I think you had better not start for Sacket' Harbor during the month of July nor August if it is sickly on the river, but if it is not sickly come in August by all means. I will meet you in Detroit when you do come if you have not got company further. If you find company going to N. York City you can travel with them as far as Rome N. Y. and I can meet you there. In fact so far as economy goes you might go to N. York City better than for me to go all the way to Detroit, and then you would get to see that great city.
Dearest you must take good care of l[ittle] Fred. and learn him to say pa before he gets [here.] Do you think he recollects me ? Has he any more teeth? You dont tell me anything about him. Have you seen Mrs. McDowell and Maj. Morrisons family. Remember me to all of them. I suppose that by the end of this week I will get some letters from you in answer to my skolding ones. I know you wont make it necessary for me to schold any more.
Give my love and kiss all at home for me. A thousand kisses for you and Freddy. Tell me if Bridget 2 will come with you to Sacket's Harbor. Adieu dearest Julia.
Have you paid Grimsley ?
