(41:13) The butler said: And things worked out just as Joseph said they would. I was given back my position, while the baker was hanged.
And things worked out just as Joseph said they would R. Elazar said: How do we know that all dreams follow the suggestion of the interpreter? Because it says “The butler said to Pharaoh, 'Things worked out just as Joseph said they would.'”
Rava added: Don't think that whenever an interpreter says something it invariably comes true. It only does if the interpretation fits the dream, for it says “He interpreted each dream according to its content” (41:12) (Berachot 55b).
NOTE: Because all dreams follow the suggestion of the interpreter, if you have a dream that can be interpreted either in a beneficial or a harmful sense, you should give it the beneficial interpretation.
(41:32) Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The reason that Pharaoh had the same dream twice is because the process has already been set in motion by God, and God is rushing to do it.”
