Others, such as Susan Hardy Aiken (1990) and Dane Kennedy (1987), have argued along similar lines. Quite recently, Tove Hussein (1998) has provided more fuel for the discussion by tracking down and interviewing surviving inhabitants of the African farm. Those she interviewed expressed nothing but respect and affection for Karen Blixen. No doubt the issues of Dinesen's role as a colonial author will remain under negotiation for some time to come.
