Joel B. Bennett is a researcher and consultant in the areas of employee well being, organizational health and stress, workplace culture, and employee training. He customizes employee focus groups, culture and benchmarking audits, and assessment centers to help guide positive organizational change. Clients include healthcare, the hospitality industry, federal and local government agencies, and community and academic organizations. He conducts workshops based on the ideas expressed in Time & Intimacy and is presently working on a follow-up manual that applies these ideas to daily living.

Dr. Bennett is on the staff of the Institute of Behavioral Research (www.ibr.tcu.edu; Texas Christian University) where he is responsible for the development and evaluation of a team-oriented training for substance abuse prevention. He has published research pertaining to substance abuse, violence, and other behavioral risks in the workplace as well as on factors that mitigate these risks (e.g., psychological presence, work group social health). Dr. Bennett also serves on the National Prevention Advisory Board for Magellan Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of Magellan Health Services.
