EILEEN BERTIN began her training as a counsellor in 1981 with the National Marriage Guidance Council (as Relate was then known). She completed her training in 1984 and has continued as a practitioner with Relate ever since. She further trained as an Education Worker and worked with groups of young people and those preparing for marriage. She has been a trainer for the National Health Service, offering counselling skills to medical professionals, and a tutor for Adult Education in counselling, and she has trained professionals from other disciplines. She is currently a trainer and supervisor for Relate and lives in Bushey with her husband and two daughters.
PAUL BROWN is a chartered clinical and occupational psychologist. After graduating from the University of Durham in 1961 he qualified at the Institute of Psychiatry. University of London, and then spent thirteen years in the National Health Service specializing in the treatment of behavioural difficulties and sexual problems. During this time he held an Honorary Lectureship at the University of Birmingham, was an external
