Electronic resources in Canadian studies are rich and rapidly developing, which is particularly advantageous for those without access to substantial library collections. Electronic text archives alleviate the problems of obtaining Canadian texts outside Canada, but copyright restrictions mean that most such archives are limited to pre–twentieth–century material. Some Canadian texts are mounted individually on dedicated sites and may be located through a general web search engine, but these are more likely to contain errors than are texts mounted within large–scale digitisation projects.
Canadian Poetry: An Electronic Resource http://www.uwo.ca/english/canadianpoetry/ Features four valuable anthologies of pre–twentieth–century writing: Early Writing in Canada (canonical poetry and prose), Early Canadian Long Poems; The Confederation Poets; and Poems in Early Canadian Newspapers.
