In addition to his work as assistant secretary of the NAACP, Walter White contributed articles and essays to numerous journals and newspapers. He also wrote a syndicated column for the New York Herald Tribune.
The following are selected writings by White during his tenure as acting secretary and secretary of the NAACP. They include NAACP Convention and Annual Conference speeches, articles from his New York Herald Tribune column; and essays written for Harper's and the Nation. In general, the writings presented here are thematically consistent with his NAACP work.
