Certiport is pleased to partner with ISTE to provide assessment solutions for ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS»S) and Teachers (NETS»T), and is a proud sponsor of NETS•S: Resources for Student Assessment.
As an ISTE 100 Member, Certiport has collaborated with ISTE to align its Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) to the NETS. IC3 is the world's first validated, standards-based, vendor-independent training and certification program for basic computing and Internet knowledge and skills. It's the only global certification program in support of the NETS on the market today.
In addition to endorsement by ISTE, the IC3 standard has been ratified and endorsed by national and international qualification bodies, standards organizations, and such academic institutions as the American Council on Education; ACT; the Computer Technology Industry Association; the Global Digital Literacy Council; the Oxford, Cambridge & Royal Society for Arts in Britain; the National Infocomm Competency Centre in Singapore; and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. More than 3,000 training and testing centers in 64 countries worldwide have adopted the IC3 program for digital literacy at school and in the workplace.
Without question, the global reach of IC3 complements and supports the international adoption of the NETS. In its review of the IC3 program, ISTE determined that IC3 clearly supports implementation of the NETS»S and NETS•T in specific, carefully reviewed, and documented ways. It substantially prepares students and teachers to effectively use technology as prescribed by these standards.
In order to realize the global promise and potential of the NETS, Certiport is committed to helping ISTE make available a full and effective range of assessment tools such as IC3. For more information on Certiport, its relationship with ISTE, and support for the NETS, visit www.certiport.com.
