ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Judy O’Neil, Ed.D.

Judy O’Neil is President of the consulting firm Partners for Learning and Leadership, Inc., which specializes in action technologies including Action Learning. She holds an Ed.D. and M.A. in Adult Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, and is on the adjunct faculty at Teachers College. She spent 30 years in the corporate world specializing in human resource development and organizational change. Her publications include Action Learning: Successful Strategies for Individual, Team, and Organizational Development; ASTD: What Works Online; Action Learning; Real Work, Real Learning; and A Review of Action Learning Literature, 1994–2000, Parts 1 & 2. Her clients have included the Government of Bermuda, VNU (Nielson Media Ratings), Berlex Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Fidelity Investments, PSE&G, RR Donnelley, AT&T, Ernst & Young, Northwest, The Mount Sinai Medical Center of New York, New York Transit Authority, and The Hartford Insurance company.

Victoria J. Marsick, Ph.D.

Victoria J. Marsick, Ph.D. is a Professor of Adult & Organizational Learning, Department of Organization and Leadership, Columbia University, Teachers College. She co-directs the J.M. Huber Institute for Learning in Organization at Teachers College with Martha Gephart. She directs graduate programs in adult education and organizational learning. Prior to joining Teachers College, she was a Training Director at the United Nations Children’s Fund. She holds a Ph.D. in Adult Education from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.P.A. in International Public Administration from Syracuse University.
