The Somerset Patriots
Location, Location, Location!
For the Somerset Patriots of Bridgewater Township, New Jersey, the investment in home is so strong that the ball club’s players and management believe in bringing a bit of their ballpark with them wherever they go. On one particular early autumn evening in 2005, the scene was Holman Stadium in Nashua, New Hampshire, some forty miles north of Boston. Nashua has long identified itself with the trials and tribulations of the Boston Red Sox. It also has an eventful baseball past of its own. Built in 1937, Holman Stadium witnessed a dramatic moment in both American social and baseball history when the Nashua Dodgers, a farm club of the Brooklyn Dodgers, played there. In 1946, Dodgers owner Branch Rickey intended to integrate the major leagues
