For Analyticals Only: How to
Flex to Each Style
The purpose of this appendix is to coach Analyticals on specific things they can do to create more productive relationships with people of each style.Most of the recommendations are temporary behavioral changes that you can make for a few minutes, before resuming your more comfortable style-based ways. However, we also mention a few options, such as speaking up more often, that could become more of an ongoing part of your behavioral repertoire.Since this appendix is a planning aid, don’t try to read it straight through. Instead, find the section that applies to the style you want to flex to:

Amiables, page 206
Expressives, page 210
Other Analyticals, page 217

Read that section and figure out what you can do to help people of that style work more effectively with you. Later, when you want to improve your relationship with someone of a different style, read the section dealing with that style. By working your way through the appendix on an as-needed basis, you’ll soon read all sections and strengthen important relationships in the process.


FLEXING TO DRIVERS

As an Analytical, you have much in common with Drivers. You are similar on one of the two basic dimensions of style: Both of you are less responsive than most people. Consequently, Drivers tend to appreciate your focus on task and your objective approach to things.
