The “F” Bomb—Flair
An artist’s flair is sometimes worth a scientist’s brains.—Anton Chekhov (Russian
playwright, short-story writer, and physician)
THE LUXURY OF a silver spoon may not have been mine at birth. Instead, I was blessed with a different sort of gift: I got “It” as part of my layette. It’s as if someone from up above threw me a bone to offset my world of material deficiency. Except that growing up in my neighborhood I didn’t see it as such. Rather, “It” became my curse as opposed to a talent. Once regarded by me as a burden to bear (since I was verbally harassed by schoolmates who thought I thought I was better than everyone else), I now recognize “It” as a powerful gift… the “F” bomb… aka flair. Style, poise, and panache are all synonymous with flair. Today, I can fully appreciate the competitive advantage that having flair has given me. Call it superfluous, but I am proof that flair will tip the scale in your favor, especially in your attempts to snatch a lifechanging job opportunity. Let this book help you recognize and hone in on your inborn flair, or let it help you start building your flair one block at time.
