ACTIVITY 100
For All You Do, This Note’s For You
Some people seem born knowing how to give themselves the needed pats on the back for work well done. But for most of us, celebrating ourselves doesn’t come easy. That’s an attitude that Knock Your Socks Off Service professionals can—and should—learn to leave behind. Give yourself permission to be terrific!PURPOSE:
✓ To celebrate our own service accomplishments
✓ To remind ourselves that we work really hard
✓ To practice saying “thank you” to ourselves
TIME: 10 minutesDIRECTIONS:
1. When work is particularly stressful, or you have been a fantastic fixer, or you have successfully navigated the waters with an extremely difficult customer, it’s time to say thank you for a job well done. Have participants identify specific times when they made an interaction successful.
2. Distribute copies of the activity and have participants write themselves a similar thank-you note, with specific details of the skills they used or work they did. Participants can use either the formatted sample or create one of their own.
3. Collect the thank-you notes and send them through interoffice mail so that the participants receive them later in the day or the next day.
