Three African Freedom Movements, No. 1, 1962
OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT
Freedomways' "special correspondent" made this report on the African National Congress ( ANC) and two other liberation movements thirty years before the end of apartheid and the victory of the ANC.
The purpose of this article is to briefly survey the history, aims and leaders of three African freedom movements in the Union of South Africa and the Territory of South West Africa and their international coordinating committee, The South Africa United Front. No attempt is made to systematically analyze the place of these organizations in the wider social, economic and political context of the Union; nor to survey all the African, Asian, Coloured and European organizations engaged in the struggle for human rights; nor, finally, is any attempt made to preview the future of the white man in South Africa.
