HE'S A RIGHT CHARLIE!; Wherever Tim Williams Goes, His Pet Parrot Goes Too - Including to the Shops!

WHO said that man's best friend is his dog?
For travel director Timothy Williams has found that when it comes to pets, his parrot Charlie flies even higher in the companion stakes.
Just like in the movie classic Treasure Island, which featured the adventures of Long John Silver, Tim's two-year-old Blue Fronted Amazon parrot is perched almost permanently on his shoulder. Every morning they drive to work together to the family business Glyn Williams Travel, at Pontllanfraith, where Tim is a director and the owner's son.
And while Tim might be in the driving seat then, once at the depot Charlie rules the roost.
Tim, 33, told the Echo: ``He gets on his perch in the office and tries to answer the phones.
``When it rings, he says `hello, hello' and `ta-ra', waves goodbye - and he can even sing `Bah, Bah Black Sheep'.
``He loves sitting watching TV eating his chopped-up fruit and seed, but we try to teach him different things each day.''
When he's not tied up with office work, Charlie likes nothingmore than to take a motorbike ride around the yard on Tim's shoulders. …
