Byline: The Register-Guard

A commencement ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m. June 6 in the North Bend High School gymnasium.

A baccalaureate service will be held at 7:30 p.m. June 2 in the school gymnasium.

Six students will share the title of class valedictorian: Emily Backues, Zair Burris, Kathryn Davis, Richard Dillard, Luke McAndrew and Blythe Van Gordon.

Backeus, daughter of Dennis and Sharon Backues of North Bend, plans to major in biology and pre-med at Rhodes College. She is active in marching band, symphonic band, forensics, peer tutoring and theater.

Burris, daughter of Thomas Burris and Merry Lojkovic, plans to participate in the Rotary Youth Exchange in Belgium and major in medical research at Grinnell College. She served as International Club president and is active in golf, cross country, peer tutoring, forensics and jazz band.

Davis, daughter of Jon and Kim Davis of North Bend, plans to attend Hamline University and major in biology. She is a member of the National Honor Society, International Club, served as Key Club treasurer and participated in gymnastics plus (Level 9), track and a Boys and Girls Club volunteer.

Dillard, son of Bob and Johanna Dillard of North Bend, plans to major in mathematics and computer science at Pacific University. He is a member of Key Club, National Honor Society, cross country and track teams.

McAndrew, son of Thomas and Deborah McAndrew of North Bend, plans to attend Creighton University and major in pre-med. He is involved in soccer, track, swim team, Future Business Leaders of America, Key Club, International Club, Science Club, National Honor Society and is an Eagle Scout.

Van Gordon, daughter of Lloyd and Mary Anna Van Gordon of North Bend, plans to attend the University of Portland, majoring in secondary education and English. She is involved in International Club, Key Club, forensics team president, debate team captain, National Honor Society, golf and AFS exchange student (Belgium).

Class salutatorian is Jennifer Sargent, daughter of Dennis and Debbie Sargent. She plans to attend Oregon Institute of Technology and to major in diagnostic medical sonography. She is involved in 4-H, forensics, International Club and AFS exchange student (New Zealand).
