Q I HAVE always wanted to visit Hawaii.
How easy is it to get there, where's the best place to stay and when is the best time to go?

Doc Holiday: There are no direct flights from the UK to the Hawaiian Islands, which in some way is a bit of a bonus.
It means you can break your journey and spend a couple of days exploring an American or Canadian city, such as San Francisco or Vancouver, and usually at little extra cost.
The flight time to Vancouver, for example, is around 10 hours, so you'll probably need a break before moving on.
There are five main holiday islands which make up Hawaii - Oahu, which is where you'll fly into via Honolulu airport, Kauai, Lana'i, Maui and Hawaii Island itself.
They have all got their own characteristics.
Oahu has Waikiki Beach, surfing and Pearl Harbor.
Quieter Maui has waterfalls, splendid beaches and the largest dormant volcano crater in the world. Kauai is known as the "garden isle", with sparkling rivers, canyons and caves.
Hawaii Island is a bit more commercialised than the others but it has the stunning Volcanoes National Park, snow-capped mountains and excellent beaches. …
