Teacher's Twin Is a Prize Pupil

UNIVERSITY lecturer David Spendlove had twice as many reasons to celebrate his prized student's success -it's his twin sister.
Gillian Chapman was so used to hearing him talking about his job as a design and technology lecturer that she thought she might as well take the exams.
So Mrs Chapman, from Kirkby, gave up her job in the costume deartment of a theatre and set about studying with her twin as her teacher.
Yesterday, 38-year-old Mrs Chapman graduated from John Moores University as a qualified teacher in textiles.
Mr Spendlove said his closest companion was not given any special treatment.
Mrs Chapman said: ``I certainly didn't get an easy ride. It probably worked the other way as all my work was double marked to ensure there wasn't any favouritism.
``It was strange to begin with,having David as my lecturer,and other people found it strange too,but we all got used to it.''
Mrs Chapman has already got her first teaching job, as a textiles teacher at Cowley Language College in St Helens. …
