Bong Revilla, Still Hurting over Tabloid Headline, Is All Set to Run as Senator

For having been misquoted in a story that came out in a tabloid last week, its understandable if Videogram Regulatory Board Chairman Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. felt bad about it. He was quoted as having said sori, ninong which meant he wont support his godfather, Fernando Poe, Jr. if ever the latter decides on running for the presidency.

If ever, FPJ will be the oppositions standard bearer, and since Bong is a Lakas party member, a loyal one if we should add, he cant of course support his ninong. That goes without saying. Still it wasnt nice that it was bannered, Bong said. Hindi maganda ang dating. Kaya mula ngayon, I wont say anything. Sarado na ang bibig ko.

Bong is deadset on seeking a senatorial seat in the coming national elections. His father, Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. is on his last term and the family decided Bong is a most fitting replacement.

But what if Lakas wont include him in the administrations senatorial lineup of candidates? Because there are rumors saying he might be kicked out from the party. Hindi naman siguro. Wala pa naman akong naririnig to that effect. At saka, Ive always been a Lakas member since the start of my political career. Ive always been a faithful and loyal party member. Ayoko yong palipat-lipat na parang butterfly...

As chairman of VRB, Bong has proven to be very effective and staunch in his fight against film and music piracy. Since he assumed office, he has spearheaded the seizure of billions of pesos worth of pirated tapes (VCDs, CDs and DVDs) and replicating machines. Its safe to say, according to him, that he has caused to diminish piracy to a considerable level. Last month, he and his team once again raided stores in Quiapo, said to be one of the biggest havens of intellectual property pirates in the country.

Very soon, we will be trashing the latest seized pirated tapes in VRBs possession at pinakamalaki ito sa lahat, Bong said.

Asked if it will be Edu Manzano wholl replace him at VRB, Bong looked puzzled. I dont know anything about that yet. I should know who will take over my post. I think I should have a hand in the selection. Wala pa...

Anyway, once he files his candidacy, that will be Bongs last day at VRB. And everyone of us know and believe his performance will be hard to follow or emulate.

Nadias show axed only after one airing

Nadia Montenegros show simply titled Nadia, which premiered last Saturday, Oct. 25, on IBC 13, became the shortest ever show to be aired on local television. It was axed after its pilot airing. When it comes to the movies, its a first day/last day case, that is when a movie flops. Nadias case is something else. She said she was was given the termination notice on Oct. 30. Why?

We smell politics here, especially so because we just learned that Gigi Malonzos show will be taking over the timeslot starting Nov. 8.

We heard that Nadia was terminated because it is believed that Nadia has plans to run as mayor of Caloocan, against Gigi Malonzo. And her guests last Saturday were known oppositionists: Senator Loi Ejercito and her son Jinggoy, and Rep. Imee Marcos and this did not fare well on the officers of the government-owned TV station. In fact, Nadia and her producers were accused of abusing Lincoln Tans position as president of IBC 13 for the airing of the show. The last we heard, eight committee members and directors of the board of IBC 13 have resigned because of the Nadia fiasco. And Tan himself might be fired, we also were told.
