- Members of the Kildeer Police Department have been honored in various ways.
Sgt. Robert Zujewski graduated from the prestigious Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command Dec. 12. The School of Police Staff and Command consists of 10 rigorous weeks of instruction in law enforcement administration, communications and management skills in an academic setting. Students are drawn from the ranks of supervisory and administrative law enforcement officers from all over the world. Zujewski received 18 hours of undergraduate credit from the Northwestern University College and continues his current assignment as administrative sergeant for the Kildeer Police Department.
Officer Nikolai Baibus was one of 33 Illinois police officers honored as Top Cops by the Illinois Department of Transportation for his efforts in the enforcement of DUI laws while employed as a police officer for the Kildeer Police Department. The award ceremony was held during the annual traffic safety symposium sponsored by the Illinois Department of Transportation at the Weston Hotel in Chicago. With 119 DUI arrests in 2002, Baibus was in the top one-tenth of one percent out of a total of more than 30,000 sworn police officers in Illinois.
Officer Allen Barron was promoted to the rank of sergeant by a unanimous vote of the village board. Barron is a 10-year veteran of law enforcement and has served as the police department's crime prevention officer for the past three years. …
