9 Big Business Groups Adopt Alternative Dispute Resolution

Nine of the largest business organizations have signed a four-point covenant to implement the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act of 2004.
The covenant was signed during the opening day of the National Employers Conference organized by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECoP).
It signaled a rare show of unity between rival business groups.
Signatories included Francis Chua, President of the Chamber of Commerce Philippines Foundation, David Balangue, president of Management Association of the Philippines, Rene Soriano, president of ECoP, Oscar Contreras, president of the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines, Francis Chua representing the Federation of Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eduardo Gutierrez Ong, vice president for internal affairs of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Meneleo Carlos, chairman of the Federation of Philippine Industries, Sergio Ortiz-Luis, Jr., president of the Philippine Exporters Confederation and Miguel Varela, president of Philippines, Inc.
Only the Makati Business Club was not represented among the high profile business groups. …
