Why did you get into marketing?

I used to be in sales until I found that I could no longer lie.

You are on a desert island with one person from the marketing industry. Who is it?

The top marketer at Red Bull. They come up with some crackpot ideas for events, which would make our time very interesting.

What is your favourite campaign/slogan?

'It does exactly what it says on the tin'.

What's your favourite cliche?

You scratch my back, I'll scratch your's.

What was your parents' best advice?

Look after number one.

Who or what do you hate the most?

Motorway service stations. They are overpriced and offer the lowest common denominator when it comes to food.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I take part in multi-day races involving cycling, running and paddling. These can last up to 10 days with little or no sleep. The buzz of working within a team is amazing, as are the hallucinogenic effects of sleep deprivation. …
