Fraud Expert Joins Eversheds


EVERSHEDS has appointed Gerallt Owen as partner to its litigation team in Cardiff. Swansea-born Mr Owen. who specialises in investigations, fraud, corporate crime and regulation, joins Eversheds' Cardiff office from Orchard in London.

Mr Owen will work with the established regulatory and inquiries and investigations teams.

His experience to date has seen him advise on proceedings brought by the Serious Fraud Office, the DTI, HM Customs and Excise, the Inland Revenue, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Financial Services Authority and the Health and Safety Executive.

He said, 'I am delighted to be joining Eversheds as it is one of the most respected firms in the field of investigations and corporate crime in the UK.

'Peter Jones in Cardiff and Paul Smith in the Leeds office are leading figures in the investigations and regulatory fields and I will be working closely with them and our colleagues in our Cardiff and London offices.

'I look forward to new challenges and to help grow the product group over the next few years.'

Managing access to GPs

MEDIARY, the Caerphilly based network which allows pharmaceutical representatives to make appointments with doctors on-line, has made two new appointments to its support team.

Matthew Wagner joins Mediary as IT manager where he will be managing and providing help desk support to the rapidly increasing numbers of practice managers in GP surgeries who are accessing and using the mediary network.

Marilyn Phenis has been appointed office manager and, after successfully setting up the new office, will be working closely with Mediary's UK sales team.

Mr Wagner joins from GE Aircraft Engine Services where he was a key member of its 900 strong help desk team, advising aircraft engineers on component checks and safety issues.

Ms Phenis was previously a facilities manager with National Britannia in Caerphilly where she had extensive experience of working with suppliers and clients.

Mediary's internet based software is being accessed by GP practices to enable practice managers to more easily manage access to doctors for the pharmaceutical industry - saving time for everyone. …
