HOW often do you see a skinny woman and think: ``If only I could look like her?''

You then enter into conversation and she tells you how she never stops eating and simply adores chocolate.

Is she lying? Or does she just follow good food habits? Most probably the latter.

One of the most important steps to achieving the body beautiful is to listen to your body -- make sure you stop munching when you feel full. It is a good idea to have a glass of water before your meal to ensure you have not mistaken thirst for hunger -- and make sure you eat your meal slowly.

Another good tip is to eat little and often -- several small meals a day will keep your metabolism running smoothly, preventing you from feeling encouraged to grab an unhealthy snack or to over indulge at meal times. It is also crucial never to skip a meal. If you do this you are more likely to pile on the pounds as your body will hold on to calories, fearful of when it will next receive food.

Don't ban all of your favourite treats because you will only end up wanting them more and bingeing -- allow yourself a little of what you fancy.

Ensure you always have healthy snacks at hand rather than packets of biscuits. …
