Camilla 'Just Coming Down to Earth' ROYAL WEDDING
Byline: By LAURA ELSTON
BRIDE-TO-BE Camilla Parker Bowles is "just coming down to earth" after the Prince of Wales went down on one knee to propose.
She revealed her delight at her engagement last night as the couple made their first public appearance together since the announcement.
The pair were greeted with applause by waiting guests as they attended a glitzy gala dinner at Windsor Castle, where they will marry in two months' time.
With a beaming smile and wearing a deep fuchsia floor-length evening gown, Camilla posed with Charles for photographs, and proudly flashed her diamond engagement ring.
"Thank you very much," Camilla said as she was congratulated.
Asked how she was doing, she said: "All right, I'm just coming down to earth."
Quizzed about the heir to the throne's proposal and whether he got down on one knee she said with a wide grin: "Of course. What else?"
The Prince, wearing a bow tie and a Windsor jacket said: "I'm very happy."
The guests dined in St George's Hall at an event that was initially being held for business and the environment.
