Warhol Prints for Sale Are Real Thing

TWO screen prints created in 60s New York by cult pop artist Andy Warhol have gone on sale in Coventry . . . in a furniture and effects shop.
One of the huge canvases displayed in the window of Over The Moon, in Earlsdon Street, Earlsdon, is Warhol's iconic Marilyn; the other is of flowers.
And the shop's owner, Bob Johnson, says with a price tag of pounds 350 each, the prints are an excellent investment for any art fan.
Mr Johnson, aged 57, said: "We were asked to sell the paintings by an art collector from Earlsdon - he wanted to see if people would be interested in them.
"They've attracted a lot of interest since they've been in the window, partly because the screen-printed colours are so vibrant they shine onto the street."
Mr Johnson said the collector had spent thousands buying pop art and 60s rarities from the continent, but was particularly taken with the story behind these Warhols.
The prints are by publisher Sunday B Morning and are restrikes of Warhol's original work, done from the artist's own matrix - the cast that created the prints. …
