Free Lecture Series to Start with Session on Abraham Lincoln

Adults ages 50 and older are invited to a series of free lectures from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Highland Park Country Club, 1201 W. Park Ave. West in Highland Park.
The Southlake Center of the College of Lake County, in partnership with the Patty Turner Senior Center in Deerfield, the Highland Park Senior Center and the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Senior Center, is sponsoring the popular series.
"The free lecture series has been very well received," says Laura Rovang, educational services assistant at Southlake. "The lectures are free of charge, and we only ask that people call and tell us that they will be attending."
The series kicks off Feb. 8 with "An Evening with Abraham Lincoln." Living history presenter R.J. Lindsey will take the stage as the popular 16th president who led our country through one of its most challenging periods. Drawing from the documented speeches, letters and stories of Lincoln, Lindsey will create a living portrait showing the man's great humor and wit. …
