A [Pounds Sterling]40,000 Word Shuffle Leaves University Staff None the Wiser

THE two university logos are so similar a casual observer might not spot any significant difference.
In fact, the one big difference is in the finances of Glasgow Caledonian University, which is [pounds sterling]40,000 the poorer after splashing out on a rebranding exercise.
It has left the university's staff and 14,000 students scratching their heads as they puzzle over the old and new designs.
Both feature a blue square containing a large letter C, along with the university's name.
For [pounds sterling]40,000, the word ' Glasgow' was moved from above the square to below it.
One staff member said yesterday: 'From a distance the two logos look almost the same and, even close up, it's hard to notice the differences.
'You would think the money that this cost would have been better spent on facilities for students.
' It might have been worth the cash if there had been a whole new logo but it looks as though all that money has been spent on moving one word.
'To be honest, most people don't even realise the logo has changed until the differences are pointed out to them. …
