Senior Golfers Top Wa[euro][TM]Wacka[euro][TM]s Shaw Tourney


SENIOR GOLFERS Gonzalo Cotoco and his guest partner Archie Lacson combined for a two-day score of 196 to emerge as over-all champion in the recent 17th Bill Shaw Memorial Golf Classic at the Wack Wack Golf & Country Club in Mandaluyong City.

Cotoco and Lacson carded an aggregate net of 134 at the west course and assembled a 62 in scramble play the next day to show up the 240 teams which took part in the 36-hole tourney presented by PLDT-Business Solutions.

Antonio De Mesa and Gino Bunye won the low gross plum. They shot a 140 in aggregate and 59 in scramble play for a 199 total.

More than R10M in prizes were given away, the bulk of which were the hole-in-one prizes put up by Audi A4 from PGA Cars, Mercedes Benz from CATS Motors, Inc., Camry from Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation, Fortuner from Toyota Balintawak, Inc., a Mitsubishi Lancer GLX from Union Motors Corp. & Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp., a Yamaha Golf Cart from Kart Plaza and a Club Car from Turf Co., two (2) world business class tickets to the East Coast from Northwest Airlines. The Northwest Airline tickets which was not won as hole-in-one prize was raffled off during the awards night. Rado watches of Switzerland also donated a wristwatch on all hole-in-one designated holes. …
