AMERICA YOU LOST ..I WON! Moussaoui Spared Execution

AL-QAEDA plotter Zacarias Moussaoui last night yelled "America, you lost - I won" as the jury in his trial ruled he will be spared the death penalty.
Moussaoui, the only person convicted in a US court in connection with the September 11 attacks, now faces life imprisonment.
The verdict was read by District Judge Leonie Brinkema at the courthouse in Alexandria, Virginia, not far from the Pentagon where one of the 2001 attacks took place.
French citizen Moussaoui sat praying silently as the judge read the decision and appeared to relax in his seat as he learnt that the jurors did not unanimously agree a sentence of death should be imposed.
As he left the courtroom, he shouted: "America - you lost!" He then clapped his hands and yelled: "I won!"
The jury did not find that Moussaoui's actions resulted in the deaths of about 3,000 people - a central part of the US Government's demand for the death penalty.
And court spokesman Edward Adams revealed: "No jurors found that the execution of Zacarias Moussaoui will create a martyr for radical Muslim fundamentalists."
The jury spent about 41 hours deliberating before reaching the verdict. They were divided on whether he should be executed.
Earlier this month, the same jury of nine men and three women found Moussaoui eligible for the death penalty. …
