West Chicago hunts suspect:
Police are investigating three reports of a man attempting to lure elementary school girls into his vehicle. The incidents took place between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Victims reported the suspect was seated in a vehicle parked in the parking lot of the administrative offices of West Chicago Elementary School District 33 at 312 E. Forest Ave. in West Chicago. The building is near Gary Elementary School. The suspect is described as a man, 25 to 35 years old with brown or black hair and a thin mustache. His vehicle is described as a white, older, mid-sized sedan with no body damage. Anyone with information should call Detective Julio Calabrese at (630) 293-2222.
Bone marrow donors needed:
Naperville native Liz Nielsen is known for telling students "carpe diem," translated as "seize the day," at Westmont High School, where she has taught English since 2001. Now the school community is hoping others will seize the day by testing to be blood and bone marrow donors for Nielsen, who is battling acute myelocytic leukemia, a cancer that affects blood-forming cells. Nielsen, who now lives in Chicago, already has undergone chemotherapy and surgeries for a rare form of liver cancer she was diagnosed with two years ago. …
