Pat Was a Force in Valleys Political Activity

Pat Pearce was a pillar of the community in a Valleys village.
Mrs Pearce was always involved in community campaigns and events - and despite being born in Bristol, her roots were always firmly placed in South Wales and the Valleys.
She was the eldest daughter of Isaac Evans of New Barn Farm, Usk, but spent most of her life in the small town near Ebbw Vale.
From 1953 to 1959 Pat attended Pontypool Girls' Grammar School, completing her education at Radyr, Usk and Llandaff teacher Training College.
An accomplished cook and needlewoman, Pat enjoyed making cakes for the family and making baby clothes for newborns.
She also worked on the family farm and had a fond love of horses.
She was a keen fundraiser for several charities and, in particular, used to help out Bethel Baptist Church and the First Ebbw Vale Penuel Scout group, of which her granddaughter Rachel is a member. …
