Suppliers Can Meet Buyers Face to Face


BUYERS from all over the UK are expected to attend an event on Teesside next month to meet new suppliers.

Local businesses will have the opportunity to promote their goods and services to representatives from several national companies as well as regionally-based buyers at Gisborough Hall in Guisborough.

Meet the Buyers is organised annually by Business Link to give firms the chance to speak face to face with decision makers from local authorities, government departments and private sector companies. Last year it generated almost pounds 750,000 of business for local suppliers.

Mike Lakinski, from Business Link's Tees Valley arm, said: "It's a cost-effective method of forging contacts which has proved a great success on both sides over the six years we have been running it.

"Our objective is simple - to get local companies in front of relevant and responsible buyers who need their products or services. It's a unique opportunity which they might otherwise never have." Businesses can ask to book up from a long list an appointment with up to seven buyers, although there will be opportunities, at a pre-event briefing, to book additional meetings. …
