KS+A is a state licensed design firm with a team of architects, engineers and construction professionals.

Teamwork is a hallmark of the firm, said Matt MacRitchie, director of marketing and sales.

"We engage our engineers from day one," MacRitchie said. "The engineers and architects are sitting in the same room."

Another selling point is its track record.

Eighteen years ago brothers John and Michael Kluber started selling their mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to Fox Valley clients. In 2001 Skahan joined the team.

Historically, slightly more than 90 percent of KS+A's business has been in the municipal market.

Still, in recent years KS+A has expanded its services to include new markets, such as senior and assisted living facilities, higher education master planning, county master planning and large corporations. It has completed more than 35 projects for Motorola Inc.

Among its higher profile projects is the 2004 construction of the 430,000-square-foot Oswego East High School.

KS+A finished the school project in just eight months.

"They were able to take our needs - educationally and monetarily - and put them into a building that worked very well for us," said Joel Murphy, assistant superintendent for planning, technology and operations for Oswego Community Unity School District 308. …
