YOSSI BENAYOUN last night warned England that Israel are ready to claim the best victory in their history.

Israel captain and West Ham midfielder Benayoun believes his nation can pile on the pressure on beleaguered England boss Steve McClaren.

Benayoun said: "If we beat England it would be the biggest result in our history.

"I see the pressure that is put on the team from when I play with West Ham.

"Hopefully for us the pressure can affect England and help us to play better and take some points from them."

Benayoun was involved in Israel's last World Cup qualifying campaign when they gave France, Ireland and Switzerland major scares.

They have played England just twice before, both in friendlies in Tel Aviv and Israel forced a draw in 1988 and were only beaten by a late Bryan Robson winner two years earlier.

Israel coach Dror Kashtan masterminded Hapoel Tel Aviv's UEFA Cup win over Chelsea six years ago - when six Blues players refused to travel to the troubled city - and believes he can enjoy another upset against England. …
