PNOC-EDC Labs Get ISO Certification

Holding fast to its first-rate operation standards, the geoscientific and environmental laboratories of Philippine National Oil Company-Energy Development Corporation (PNOC-EDC), headed by Paul Aquino, president-CEO, were the latest to be awarded with ISO/IEC (International Organization for Standards/International Electrotechnical Commission) 17025 certification from the Philippine Accreditation Office (PAO) of the Department of Trade and Industry.
The company explained in a press statement that the laboratories "have been assessed and found conforming to the requirements of Philippine National Standard (PNS) ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and the PAO conditions for laboratory accreditation in the field of chemical testing.
The certificate was awarded to the Laboratory Analytical Services Section of the Environmental Management Department and the Chemistry and Isotope Laboratory Section of its geosciences department.
The environmental laboratory of the state-run geothermal firm also got accreditation recently from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
It noted that being the country's largest geothermal energy producer, it strives for well-equipped laboratories to achieve accurate and timely data analysis, thus, ensuring quality results using national and international standard procedures. …
