Join Us on Our Walk Quarrying for Cash; HOSPICE FUNDRAISER: Plea to Wear Yellow on New Heritage Trail

WALKERS are being encouraged to don something yellow next weekend and pound a fundraising beat around the old quarries of Hartshill, near Nuneaton.
The effort will raise cash for Nuneaton's Mary Ann Evans Hospice, while also paying tribute to the town's old quarry workers.
It will take place along a new six-mile circular route which has been christened The Quarryman's Walk and is part of a heritage trail acknowledging the contribution quarry workers made to the north Warwickshire economy.
Groundwork Coventry and Warwickshire - an environmental regeneration charity - and the North Warwickshire Community Partnership have joined forces with staff at the Mary Ann Evans Hospice to raise funds while giving a fanfare announcement that the new trail is officially open.
Judith Allnutt, project officer with Groundwork, said: "The trail will draw out the fascinating history and the locally distinctive landscape via a well-maintained and interpretive trail, particularly through specially designed heritage interpretation features and oral history sound boxes along the route. …
