Tarr, Russell, History Review
www.blockposters.com is an interesting new site which allows you to upload an image from your computer, and then have it 'sliced' into a number of pieces which are placed across several pages of a document which can be printed out and stuck together to form a larger classroom poster. As long as you use a suitably high-resolution image as a starting point, the finished product should not look grainy. The best way of obtaining such an image is to use the 'advanced search' features in the Google Image Search (http://images.google.com),which allows you to search only for 'large' and 'full colour' images. If your image requires a bit of touching up, or you want to apply a dramatic effect to it, you could do this using a tool such as www.picnik.com. It is even possible to get your image turned into an interactive jigsaw puzzle using www.flash-gear.com/puzzle.
