According to the EP's draft resolution, submitted by Georgs Andrejevs (ALDE, Latvia), the European Commission should propose a recommendation on cardiovascular disease, including hypertension. The EP advocates national awareness and educational programmes as well as continuous training for professional health workers. It also says that funding should be maintained for research on cardiovascular disease and prevention.
