Now Harry Goes to University; Student Material: Harry on the Silver Screen with Hermione and Ron

HE has always been the most famous pupil at Hogwarts School ofWitchcraft and Wizardry.
Now Harry Potter is going to university - but without swapping his wand for lawbooks or lecture halls.
Instead, he is the subject of the world's first academic course themed entirelyaround the boy wizard, at Yale university in the U.S.
And Harry will be joined at Yale by former Prime Minister Tony Blair who, ithas just been announced, will shortly be opening a new chapter of his lifethere, teaching a course on faith and globalisation.
Christian Theology and Harry Potter is the first course of its kind to beoffered to students anywhere in the world.
Professors drawing on their expertise in theology, children's literature,globalisation studies and even the history of witchcraft have been able to useHarry Potter to attract crowds of students eager to take on a disciplined studyof the books by JK Rowling.
Danielle Tumminio, a Yale Divinity School graduate student and the instructorfor Yale's Harry Potter course, said her academic background in literature andtheology, combined with her personal interest in the books, inspired her todesign the course.
It makes use of all seven Potter books and the students examine Christianthemes such as sin, evil and resurrection. Miss Tumminio admitted: 'It was astruggle for me as I put the class together because I knew if I didn'tconstruct this really well, a lot of what I was doing would be missed ormisconstrued. I certainly didn't want to come across as someone trying toindoctrinate my students.
'I also wanted to make it clear that it was a critical endeavour and that itwasn't that you'd sit around all day talking about how great Luna Lovegoodwas. …
