Linda's Kindest Cut; FUNDRAISER: Care Worker Sheds Her Hair to Help Terminal Patients and Families

A NURSING HOME care worker from Coventry had her head shaved to raise money for a new quiet room for residents.
Linda McGlinchey, aged 55, of Longford Road, Longford, is a palliative care worker in Abbey Park Nursing Home, in Humber Road, Stoke.
She wanted to do something to help furnish a new room in the home, which will be used by relatives and their families.
She said: "I just wanted to help my residents and their families. It's an end-of-life unit so I want them to have the best they can. Their families also need to have some quiet space.
"I can't run or anything else like that but I wanted to do something to raise money. I decided on a headshave and everyone's been so kind."
A nervous Linda put her hair in the hands of an equally nervous home manager, Jo Pohl, who had never shaved anyone's head before.
Linda said: "I was quite nervous beforehand and my heart was pounding but it's okay, I can get used to the new hairstyle.
"My family think I'm crazy but I'm happy I've done it. …
