In the latter, Bangor achieves top 10 rankings in subject areas ranging from music and sport science, to languages and finance and accounting.
Both teaching and research at Bangor are being further strengthened by a pounds 67m investment in new academic posts and facilities.

Bangor has one of the largest Peer Guiding schemes of any university, with second and third year students involved in a mentoring scheme to help new students settle in during their first weeks at university. The Peer Guide scheme and the Personal Tutor system means there is always someone to turn to for help and advice, while Bangor's Student Services Centre provides a professional support service for students.
