NORMAN, Okla. - Jen Stoltenberg scored two goals off assists by Teresa Bowns on Friday night to lead the Oregon women's soccer team to a 2-0 nonconference victory at Oklahoma.
Stoltenberg put the Ducks (7-2-1 overall) on the board two minutes into the second half, knocking in her sixth goal of the season after Bowns sent a pass behind the Sooners defense that Stoltenberg tapped in for the 1-0 lead.
Stoltenberg and Bowns connected six minutes later on a similar play, with Stoltenberg ran down Bowns' pass and one-timed it for her seventh goal of the season and the 2-0 lead over Oklahoma (1-10-0).
"It was a great road win for us," Oregon head coach Tara Erickson said. "Their record is deceptive because they are very athletic. They came at us hard, but we played tough defense and Jen made two really great goals on the other end."
