18th Annual Pig Roast, St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 24500 N. Old McHenry Road, Hawthorn Woods: Runs noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 17. Features a meal of roast pork, potato salad, baked beans, sweet corn and desserts. Event also features musical performances, karaoke and a midway with games, a moonwalk, a castle and bingo.
