The Kirov Ballet and Orchestra, "Giselle," Oct. 2-5
The world-renowned Kirov Ballet and 66 -piece orchestra, returns with "Giselle," the classic 19th century tale of love, betrayal, death and forgiveness. The Kirovs bravura soloists, graceful corps de ballet and stellar orchestra are celebrated by ballet fans worldwide.
"Margaret Garner," Nov. 1-9
The return of grand opera to the Auditorium Theatre! Denyce Graves (Nov. 1-2) and Tracie Luck (Nov. 6-9) star in Toni Morrison and Richard Danielpours moving epic story of Margaret Garners quest for freedom and her decision to attempt to kill herself and her two children, rather than see them returned to the bonds of slavery.
"Too Hot To Handel: The Jazz-Gospel Messiah," Dec. 12 & 14
More than 200 artists join together on the Auditoriums stage for this inspiring take on Handels "Messiah." Features tenors Rodrick Dixon and Victor Trent Cook (of Cook, Dixon & Young) and soprano Alfreda Burke; with a full orchestra, jazz combo and the citywide Too Hot Choir.
