Fort Gives It the Big Yellow; THRIVE
One of Birmingham's most iconic buildings is turning yellow to give children with liver disease hope for a brighter future.
Award winning property developer Urban Splash is supporting Birmingham-based charity Children's Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF)'s Big Yellow Friday on 6March by turning Fort Dunlop's signage yellow in the week leading up to the event and inviting tenants to back the fundraising initiative.
Frank Walsh at Urban Splash said: "To be involved with CLDF's fundraiser is very emotional for me. As a parent, it is difficult to imagine what these families deal with. I have two children who are blessed with good health so to see other families going such anguish they really struck home.
"I would like to thank Children's Liver Disease Foundation for inviting Urban Splash to get involved with Big Yellow Friday and really hope that by turning Fort Dunlop yellow we will help raise awareness."
Catherine Arkley, Chief Executive of CLDF, the UK's leading organisation fighting childhood liver disease, said: "The Foundation is very grateful to Urban Splash for embracing Big Yellow Friday. Last year supporters all over the country raised over pounds 60,000 by holding some 200 events such as yellow cake sales, wear something yellow days and custard pie throwing competitions.
