Ex-Service Notes


* BEDWORTH branch, Royal British Legion, meet today at the Bedworth Ex-servicemen's Club, Rye Piece, at 11.30am and the Bulkington Village branch members assemble at the War Memorial Club at 8pm. Coventry No 4 branch, RBL, meet at the Standard Triumph Social Club, Tile Hill Lane, at 7.30 pm, also today.

* COVENTRY Airborne Association members meet tomorrow at the TA Centre, Radford Road, at 11am.

The REME branch members also meet at the TA Centre, Radford Road, at 2pm and the Western Front Association members assemble at the Methodist Church Centre, Barack Street, Warwick, at 7.45pm. The RAFA branch meets at 8pm at their RAFA Club, Lythalls Lane.

* THE Royal Marines Association branch meet on Thursday at the Royal Warwicks Club at 8pm.

Secretary Gordon Caulfield on 02476 683425 can provide detail of membership.

* SUNDAY next brings the monthly meeting of the Bedworth branch of the Parachute Regiment Association at the Bedworth Ex-servicemen's Club, Rye Piece, at 11am. If you served in the Paras and reside in the Bedworth,

Bulkington or Nuneaton area and wish to join the branch, you will be made most welcome.

* MEMBERS of the Coventry branch of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers/Warwickshire Regiment hold their meeting at the Royal Warwicks Club, also on Sunday, at 11am. Secretary Les Fowles on 02476 366347 can provide membership detail. An important date for the branch, Saturday, April 18, at 5pm, the laying up of the existing branch Standard of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment Association will take place at St Margaret's Church, Ball Hill,

Walsgrave Road, and the new Standard of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Association branch will be dedicated in the presence of veterans and former members of the regiments and Coventry Ex-service Standard Bearers. All ex-service association branch members are invited to attend.
