Art Institute of Chicago Group Opens New Season of Programs
The Fox Valley Community Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago has announced its new program schedule for the 2009-10 season.
The locally presented programs cover a wide range of artistic interests from arts in the courtroom to the School of the Art Institute. The year starts in September with a presentation on satire and censorship. In December, they hear about Frank Lloyd WrightAEs scandalous love affair with the wife of one of his clients. The New Year starts with a January program on art in the courtroom from the 17th century to modern times. In February, the study series considers various aspects of the School of the Art Institute. The final local program, at the annual meeting, considers the Art InstituteAEs tapestry collection.
The other programs involve bus trips to Chicago or elsewhere. Due to changes in Art Institute policies, programs involving travel are restricted to members. For membership details, call Pam at (630) 443-0313. The Fox Valley Associates also supports arts in the Fox Valley. In mid-October, there is a training program for Arts Volunteers in the Classroom, formally known as "Picture Lady." In late winter, there is a Portfolio Night for senior high school students providing professional critiques to them on their portfolios.
