Lee Just One Win Away from Shot at Pavlik

MIDDLEWEIGHT prospect Andy Lee is just one more victory away from a shot at a world title, according to his manager Emmanuel Steward.
Following talks with promoter Bob Arum, Steward has revealed that Lee is ahead of John Duddy and Matthew Macklin in the race for a showdown with WBC World champion Kelly Pavlik.
The 25-year-old from Limerick has enjoyed a successful 12 months and Steward believes he will get the chance to become middleweight champion of the world in 2010.
'At the moment we're looking at Andy facing Danny Jacobs, who is well rated and unbeaten, and a win there would set him up for a shot at Kelly Pavlik,' said Steward.
'I know that Bob Arum would love that fight because in the middleweight division there are not too many bigger, marquee names than Andy.
'Pavlik has to get past Sergio Martinez first in April and Andy should be out against Jacobs too in the States in April and then the fight can be made, assuming both win.
