New Women's Mental Health Hospital Opens; Specialist Facility to Aid Recovery

A NEW specialist hospital to treat women with mental health problems was officially opened yesterday.
The Delfryn Lodge facility, run by the Cambrian Group mental health rehabilitation services, opened on the outskirts of Mold.
The specialist hospital, with 24 beds, will provide intensive recovery care for women, and bolster treatment services in the health care sector for North Wales and North West England.
The Cambrian Group said statistics show the North West has the highest level of hospital admissions for depression and anxiety at 55% and 29% above the national average respectively.
The rate for hospital admission for schizophrenia is also the highest nationally, at 39% higher than the national average.
Not just a treatment facility, Delfryn Lodge will also help women recovering from mental health difficulties to reintegrate back into the community. Cambrian Group chiefs said the hospital would encourage residents to "self manage, self-care and self develop."
Mike McQuiad, Cambrian Chief Operating Officer said: "Delfryn Lodge will provide a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment for 24 women to rebuild their living and vocational skills ready to regain their place in society.
"The women in our care will be able to participate in a ground -breaking programme combining intensive rehabilitation therapy with patient - centred plans, active care. …
